National Tree Day is Australia's biggest community tree-planting event. Organised nationally by Planet Ark in association with Toyota and AMP Foundation, last year's Tree Day saw more than 250,000 volunteers join together to plant a million native trees and shrubs at 3,200 sites Australia wide. Waterfront City will present the internationally renowned exhibition The Leonardo da Vinci Machines - An Exhibition of Genius, from 1st July until 1st October this year.
The spectacular exhibition from the Museum of Leonardo da Vinci in Italy features sixty four models of Da Vinci's famous machines, many of which can be touched, tried and tested by visitors, and each explores the master's genius in design.

Chances are you probably know someone who has a genetic disease, because one in twenty children are born with some form of genetic fault. There are children with leukaemia, muscular dystrophy, cystic fibrosis and many other disorders. The scientists at the Children's Medical Research Institute are working to try to prevent these diseases before they occur in our children, or where that is not possible to develop better treatments. 4th August 2006.
