Online: Email and Travel

Having email all set up and running at your home or office is one thing, but what about when you are on the move and need to check your email? It is too messy to reconfigure an email program on someone ele's computer every time you are away from your own. The best option is to use a Web based email service that allows you to check your Vicnet email account as well. This way you can access your account wherever you can access the Web based email provider's Web site.

After extensive research, Vicnet Customer Service recommends the Web based email provider mail2web since Hotmail no longer allows you to check your Vicnet email account. For instructions regarding how to access your Vicnet email via the mail2web service, please see below. If you prefer to use another Web based email provider, and need to know the required settings, please see our Dialup Numbers Information page.

Open a Web browser program such as Internet Explorer or Netscape and then...

  1. Type http://www.mail2web.com/ into the Address bar
  2. Press Enter on your keyboard
  3. A web page similar to that below will load.

  7. Within the Password box, type your password ********
  8. Ensure the SSL box is ticked
