Vicnet Internet Training

Vicnet offers training in effective Internet use ranging from classes for beginners to advanced users.

Our training

• is skills based
• is in small groups (max 10)
• is held in the Vicnet Training Room (part of the State Library of Victoria)
• is modular (each module is 2 - 3 hours duration)

Comprehensive training notes are provided for future reference.

Courses

  You don't have to be a computer expert to use the Internet. Find out some background to the Internet, then discover how to navigate the World Wide Web.

• Find it on the Net!

  Make the most of the Internet. Learn how to search for information and how to interpret search results.

• Introduction to Email

  Would you like to use email but don't know where to start? Using Hotmail this course offers 'hands-on' instruction in sending and receiving emails.

• Introduction to My Connected Community (mc2)

  Would you like to participate in an online community of interest? You don't have to be a computer expert. This course offers a 'hands on' introduction to online communities of interest.

• Creating on Online Community of Interest (mc2)

  Would you like to create and moderate an online community of interest? If so, then this is the course for you!

• Accessible Web Design

  An accessible web is available to everyone, irrespective of sight, physical,or other disability. This workshop will show you how to do achieve this.

  Accessible web design also improves the general quality of web services, through improved download times, navigability, and simplification of maintenance tasks.

• RMIT Online Multimedia program

  The RMIT OMP program is a suite of online training modules in multimedia production and management. Module 1 is available free of charge to Vicnet content providers, Vicnet dial-up customers and Skills.net members.

  Note: A fee of $44 will be charged if an assessment / RMIT University Statement of Completion is required.
