VICNET Internet Training - Find It on the Net

Skills.net offers free introductory training to those Victorians;

  • who are not connected to the Internet at home or
  • who have not used the Internet for more than five hours in the last month or
  • who do not use the Internet as part of their work.

'Find it on the Net!' is for people who have a general understanding of the Internet, Internet Explorer and the World Wide Web and want to learn which search tool to use and how to use it to find that elusive piece of information!

You'll discover how Web databases - subject directories, search engines & metasearch tools - actually work, how to plan a general search strategy and what can be done with useful results. A number of practical exercises and quick-reference sheets should see you quickly become a more efficient & satisfied searcher.
